Privacy Policy — Ontech Sentinel

Ontech Sentinel is an internal secure-access client for Ontech Solutions employees and authorised contractors. It connects your device to Ontech's private network over WireGuard and enables IT remote support over RustDesk. It is distributed privately (direct link only) and is not intended for the general public.

Information we process

• Account identity: your Ontech Active Directory username, used only to authenticate you and authorise VPN access. Your password is verified against Ontech's directory and is never stored.
• Device details: a device name/hostname you provide and a WireGuard public key generated on your device. The matching private key never leaves your device.
• Connection metadata: your assigned internal VPN address and connection timestamps, retained for security auditing and troubleshooting.
• Multi-factor authentication: a one-time code may be sent to the phone or email on your Ontech directory record to verify enrolment.

Bundled components

The installer also installs WireGuard for Windows and RustDesk, both pre-configured to connect only to Ontech's self-hosted servers and pinned to Ontech's keys — never public infrastructure.

How we use it

Solely to provide and secure your access to Ontech's internal systems: authentication, VPN provisioning, remote support, and security governance (access is requested, approved, time-boxed and logged). We do not sell your data or share it with third parties.

Retention

Device records and access logs are retained while your device is enrolled and for a limited period afterward for audit, then removed. You can revoke a device any time from the portal, ending its access.
